Dr Chris Martin

Chris has over 20 years of clinical experience in the NHS in general practice and a variety of hospital specialties.He has published quantitative and qualitative research on mortality modelling, risk stratification and primary care utilisation. He is a former Chairman of both the Essex Faculty of the Royal College of General Practitioners, and the Essex Primary Care Research Network. Qualifying as GP trainer in 1998, he trained ten GPs by 2008 and also taught on courses for Vocational Training Schemes, the Royal College of GPs, Essex University and UCL. In addition to teaching, he has experience presenting at healthcare, research and insurance events in the UK, Europe and the USA.

Alison has built on her experience as a junior hospital doctor to add clinical understanding to her work in the field of evidence-based medicine for organisations including JB Medical Ltd., Drug and Therapeutics Bulletin, the BMJ Group, Matrix Knowledge Group, and Evidera Inc. (formerly United BioSource Corporation). Alison has led teams that delivered systematic reviews for health, pharmaceutical and other public sector clients, including burden of illness reviews, reviews of cost-effectiveness analyses and health technology assessments, and reviews of clinical efficacy and safety, including network meta-analyses for submissions to health technology organisations including NICE and the Scottish Medicines Consortium. Alison has used her interest in exploring innovative ways to use technology to improve the efficiency and accuracy of evidence surveillance and literature synthesis to lead on the design and development of Heoro.com(external link). Alison has an MBChB and a BSc (Hons) in Experimental Immunology and Oncology, both from the University of Manchester, and an MSc in Primary Care from Queen Mary & Westfield College, University of London.

Chief Technical Officer
Tarun is a technocrat with a rich, diversified and cross-cultural experience of over 20 years in the IT industry. He has spent close to 3 years working on IT consulting and development projects in the US with companies like GE, American Commercial Barge Lines (ACBL) and Jones Apparel Group. He also has set up and managed a start-up IT company for over two and half years. He has worked as a Senior Development Manager with Risk Management Solutions (RMS/RMSI) and was deeply involved in the development RMS's mortality modelling product.
Machine Learning Consultant
Jean-Baptiste is an experienced software developer and machine learning specialist. He holds an MSc in Evolutionary and Adaptive Systems from the University of Sussex in Brighton and a PhD in Machine Learning from UCL in London, where he focused on researching biologically-inspired evolutionary systems for control. Throughout the years, his other interest has been the building of cryptographically-secured peer-to-peer software, and he aims to bring those two fields together in the H44 secure cloud computing platform which he is currently developing. Jean-Baptiste designed and implemented Heoro's automated study type classification system.
Mathematical Modelling Consultant
Cesar is a mathematical modeller with more than 15 years of experience developing models for a broad range of industrial applications. He has a background in chemistry, biology, engineering, mathematics and computer sciences. He earned his PhD in Applied Mathematics from Ecole Centrale de Lille (France) and has spent the last 10 years developing biological and medical models for lifestyle interventions, drug development and mortality risk assessment. He has been a senior researcher working for several environments including Academia (e.g. UCL, University of Sheffield) and different industries such as FMCG (Unilever), Pharmaceuticals (Pfizer) and Insurance (RMS).
Henry is Statistical Advisor to the Crystallise Group. He is a senior lecturer at the Centre for Health Informatics and Multiprofessional Education (CHIME) at UCL in London. Henry studied Natural Sciences as an undergraduate at the University of Cambridge, and then completed a PhD in health psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry (King's College, London) and an MSc in Applied Statistics at the University of Oxford. He initially worked for the Imperial Cancer Research Fund (now Cancer Research UK) in Oxford, with his first position in health informatics being at UCL's School of Public Policy.
